2023 SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA INTERIOR REMODEL - TENANT IMPROVEMENTS
Interior remodeling of an existing bow-truss commercial building. The client program is summarized as an invitation only collaborative workspace for successful film and commercial production companies. The design response provided flexibility and blurring between the companies. The resulting perception of the space is a single operation of select ‘brands’ organized under a modular framework. The wood grids simultaneously organize individual and shared spaces. The grid maximizes future expansion, flexibility and customization for each user. The system also performs in response to concerns for isolation since having experienced the recent pandemic. Occupants are comfortably distanced for minimal contact if ever necessary, providing some reasonable assurance against future outbreaks.
